Well, it's now official! I am going to be vending at the Hester Street Fair this Sunday from 10am - 6pm!  If you live in NYC, you should come by!  It's near the park at Hester St. & Essex St.

I will probably be shutting my etsy shop down from Friday until Sunday night, so I don't have to worry about anyone buying something from my shop while it's for sale in person at the market.

It is very last notice, I came across the opportunity when another girl in the NewNew Etsy Street Team had to leave her slot.  So, all this week I'm going to be a bit manic as I scramble to get everything together before Sunday.

I'm also pondering what other "oddities" should I bring besides my Magic Vial Pendants?  I have a couple of prints on hand, might as well see how people react to them - not sure about going and having however many more made just yet.  Haven't found my ideal print place (Cafepress is out, DA is out, Julio's Printing out here in the 'hood is out), but I will be spending time looking around Manhattan this week.  I do have a jar of my homemade herbal sugar scrub (chocolate mint leaves blended with vanilla sugar, jojoba oil, etc.) that I might as well take, but should I make another? just to have 2? maybe? I don't know. . .  Also pondering the scented oil Vial Car Air Fresheners . . it's Manhattan, would anyone there even have a car?

Even considering the possibility of making my somewhat infamous "Stephanie's Demon Cookies" to give away with my business cards, noting that I will bake on commission.

Thinking about a lot.  And I still have prep to do, like putting handles in those paper bags I bought last time (what was I thinking buying bags without handles), and making up a price list, and making up tags.

(and exactly *how* important is it to people to know all the little meanings of their pendants?  I'll have it written down at the table, but should each pendant come with a card that has the components and meanings written out on it?  I'm thinking maybe so?

Urg!  What am I blogging for, I gotta get to work!

Definitely bring your scrub! I adore mine... (actually, maybe you shouldn't... I could probably use another jar! :P) It's more work, but I'd say have a card for each pendant... I really love having a detailed list of the properties for each of mine ^_^

yup! found another jar (my last one!) so I've got two jars of the chocolate mint & vanilla sugar scrub. Even had a little left over after fixing up the batches and gave a little test on my feetsies. . . . mmm. . . clean, minty-fresh feetsies!

Thanks, I'll see if I can find another jar so I can have 2 jars of scrub and the one tester/sample jar. And yes, I was up last night making cards for each pendant with the name and basic description (had to cut it down a bit to fit on a card, but the gist is there).

Congratulations! Best of luck with it :)

Maybe you should make some sample sizes of your sugar scrub to sell, instead of just having just two big jars?
Wish I could come, but I kinda live on the other side of the country...lol. Good luck, though. ^^

I do have a sample jar (a recycled mineral powder container) that I'll be bringing, so people can test that.

Aw, I wish I lived closer to NYC. Good luck with everything! :) My only advice on "oddities" would be to bring your experimental stuff as well, because different things attract different people. :)

Ohh!! Maybe I can make a trip into the city! I've been meaning to do so for a while anyway. I'll have to check my work schedule for next week.

Sweet, I'll be there all day. Hoping if this goes well I can see about more markets, either this one again, or would love to do Brooklyn Indie Market again.

Well...checked my schedule. Of course I'm opening all days this weekend, which means I don't even leave work until 5:30, so I couldn't get to the city until 6:30...I hope you get more markets too! Never been to the Brooklyn Indie.
