Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Hurricane and New Moon?

Just realized that the hurricane that's expected to hit NYC this Sunday coincides with the New Moon.

Thinking I might set out catchers in my garden for Sunday, might make some Elemental Storm Vials with those new 15ml bottles.

Anyone interested in such? (would obviously be water based, not oil based)

UPDATE:

Survived the hurricane just fine; and I did set out my crystal collection bowl to gather the water from the storm as mentioned above. I'm working on labels (and cleaning up the yard) but will hopefully have them listed soon. Obviously, there will be a finite number of these as I can't get any more of the water, but I think I've got plenty.

Ah... yeah, that's similar to what my roommate said to me. She said it shouldn't be too bad.

I guess I'm just super paranoid because I'm from Hawaii and some of the hurricanes have caused some damage, like low levels of homes getting flooded and tree branches falling and rocks flying and things like that.
