So, it finally stopped raining (seems like the first time all month) and I was able to go out for a walk on Saturday. Actually ended up getting lost in south Brooklyn, in completely inappropriate shoes, but it was still nice. I think the most surprising bit was when I found the hollyhock, growing, slightly stunted, out of a crack between building and pavement. I can't say I'm surprised by the tenacity of the plant (it grows right out of the gravel driveway back in Mississippi), I just didn't know it grew so willingly this far north.

So, that walk was the inspiration for this sudden rash of new necklaces (just as the horrible, unseasonable weather that's been almost nothing but rain and cold for all of June has been making it very hard for me to create anything!)

So, hopefully, the good weather will continue, my garden will recover, I'll get to go on more walks, and it won't be so long until my next update. I also need to stock up for hopefully some sort of craft market this summer.

I'm going to have company come and visit me starting this Friday, so it'll probably be pretty quite that whole next week as I play gracious host, but maybe I'll take back up drawing at the office and might get back into some actual art, or some such.
